Every day we are faced with the temptation to avoid exercise, often out of laziness or lack of motivation. It is so easy to allow our bodies to become inactive and weigh more than necessary. With that being said, it is important that we take action and make sure our health is in good shape. There has been a growing concern as to how much physical activity we are exposed to on a daily basis.

5 Steps To Make Sure You Workout

1. Start with a goal, like losing weight or toning up. As you are planning your exercise program, write down the consequences that can occur if you don’t stick to this program. In other words, what happens when you fail? Make sure there are no negative side effects attached to your daily exercise routine.

2. Keep your fitness equipment nearby

Have your exercise equipment readily available so you can work out at any time of the day. Exercise can be as simple as walking or running on the treadmill for 30 minutes, doing 10 to 20 push-ups, squats, and sit-ups. If you are interested in weight lifting, keep the weights handy and start lifting regularly. It is easy to develop the habit of staying fit if you have a convenient setup from which to work out on a daily basis.

3. Find an exercise buddy

Find a friend or family member to work out with. You can hold each other accountable for your workout schedule and provide moral support in your exercise endeavors. Also, there are many benefits that occur when we exercise with other people because it is much more fun than exercising on our own. If you have someone to work out with on a regular basis, you will feel obliged to follow through with your new program and make sure that you stick to it.

4. Be patient and consistent

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away or don’t even know if you are doing the exercises correctly at first glance. Remember that it takes time to develop new habits. Even if you notice a little bit of difference, be happy with your results and continue working out. Make modifications as needed, but don’t get discouraged if you aren’t doing it right the first time because you will definitely improve over time.

5. Don’t give up too easily

It is easy to get discouraged when we do not see immediate results, but remember that it takes time to change our body type. If we are consistent and stay motivated, we will be successful in our endeavors and reach our goal weight in no time at all.


We all need to develop a work ethic that makes us successful in reaching our goals. When we get into the habit of doing something on a regular basis, it becomes a lot easier to stick with the plan and achieve the results we are looking for. As long as you make sure you exercise on a regular basis and follow through with your daily routine, you will see great results fast. Do not be discouraged if you do not work out for a few days in a row (just pick up where you left off and continue from there).
